Anti-ageing acupuncture treatments for the face and body

Lefay Resort & Spa Lago di Garda, in Italy harness the powers of Chinese medicine

Lefay Resort & SPA Lago di Garda, the luxury eco spa resort overlooking Lake Garda in Italy, has introduced two new acupuncture treatments for 2016, based on the ancient principles of Chinese Aesthetic Medicine.

The new aculifting and face massage with Gua Sha – Farfalla di Seta – is a non-invasive and non-toxic lifting treatment, which helps to reduce the signs of ageing.

The treatment starts with acupuncture, which aims to slow the formation of wrinkles and stimulates the facial energy points to make the skin supple and glowing. This is followed by a draining and contouring massage.

Lefay has also developed a new anti-cellulite body treatment – Il Fluire del Ruscello -which uses acupuncture and massage to help eliminate imperfections in the thighs and abdomen.

The treatment begins with a medical diagnosis to identify the causes of the cellulite followed by personalised phyto-aromatherapy using specific medicinal plants.

Acupuncture needles are applied to areas with the greatest fluid retention or cellulite and are stimulated by micro-electrodes. A draining and anti-cellulite massage follows, performed with a Gua Sha, which is a Chinese instrument that stimulates the acupuncture channels and points, following specific manipulative techniques.

Doctor Carlo Barbieri of the Lefay SPA Method Scientific Committee said: “Acupuncture has been used in Chinese medicine for hundreds of years as a valuable method for preserving good health and slowing the ageing process. We have used these ancient techniques to create new holistic treatments to boost wellness and beauty.”

The aculifting and face massage with Gua Sha, lasts 80 minutes and costs £176 (220 euros), excluding accommodation.

The anti-cellulite body treatment lasts 90 minutes and costs £184 (230 euros) for one session or £412 (515 euros) for three sessions, excluding accommodation.

A stay at Lefay Resort & SPA Lago di Garda costs from £232 (Euros 290) per suite per night including breakfast.
