1. Lose weight on Italy’s Lake Garda
Lefay Resort & Spa, overlooking Lake Garda in Italy, has designed a wellbeing body programme, which takes a holistic approach to weight loss.
The spa is set in 27 acres of woodland and olive groves in the Alto Garda National Park. There are five different types of sauna; a salt water lake for flotation therapies; a state-of-the-art gym and outdoor and indoor swimming pools.
Lefay's Scientific Committee have established two broad categories of people with excess weight - Yin and Yang; those who over eat in social situations and those who have cravings and water retention.
Although the groups overlap, they allow Lefay's doctors to identify behaviour that causes excess weight and tailor a long-term programme to tackle it.
The programme starts with a personal consultation to establish the guest's body and behaviour type. This is followed by a series of massages. Energetic Plantar Reflexology is used to stimulate the body and release energy. Tailor-made treatments make up the rest of the programme.
A detoxifying diet complements the programme. It is designed not to restrict calories, but to change dietary behaviour and patterns.
The weight loss programme costs from £1,280 (Euros 1,490) including three nights at Lefay Resort & Spa on a full board basis.
