Insider tips

Gleneagles offers some of the finest country pursuits and leisure activities to try out while on holiday in Scotland...

Set in an 850 acre resort of beautiful countryside in the heart of Scotland, The Gleneagles Hotel is the perfect setting for one of the most luxurious destination spas in the world.

Every aspect of the unique and tranquil space enhances the therapeutic ESPA treatments. A wide range of natural facials, body treatments and massages are available for both men and women. Found within the spa are 20 treatment rooms, heat experiences, a vitality pool, calming relaxation rooms and a oriental themed courtyard which all have a serene atmosphere and calming music to help guests forget the demands of their daily lifestyle.

The ESPA treatments are holistic, combining modern techniques with ancient therapies from around the world. Each treatment is carefully developed to enhance your wellbeing.

Treatment Overview
The signature treatment at the Spa at Gleneagles by ESPA is The Source. Taking inspiration from the hotels surroundings the treatment uses local ingredients from the fresh waters and rolling hills of Perthshire.

A revitalizing and rebalancing holistic experience, the treatment begins with a calming footbath in which local, river-washed stones are used to stimulate reflex points on the feet. A full body exfoliation follows, preparing the body for a deeper level of relaxation. Tired muscles are then warmed using a muslin-wrapped herbal poultice made of lavender, rosemary, oats and elderflower gathered from the surrounding countryside.

The ritual continues with a purifying body massage, and concludes with a tension relieving scalp massage.

The nine-hole PGA National Academy Course is perfect for a warm-up round or for golfers just starting out. At the state of the art PGA National Golf Academy, professional coaches improve the performance of enthusiastic beginners and advanced players alike, using the latest computer software to analyse your game.

The Strathearn is a grand restaurant, serving the finest Scottish dishes while Deseo serves Mediterranean cuisine in a relaxed and informal environment.

In April 2011, the Dormy Club House will reopen following a £2.5million refurbishment, and will offer guests a wide selection of traditional meals from wholesome pies, sandwiches and grills. At the heart of the hotel is The Bar where guests can relax over a morning coffee, light lunch or an afternoon tea. Start your evening with a classic cocktail before dinner or wind down with an after dinner whisky.
