New spa for Cornwall
The Headland Spa, part of the established Headland Hotel in Newquay, is due to open this month and offers breath-taking views of the Atlantic ocean

Holidaymakers flocking to Cornwall during the summer holidays this year will have the chance to visit a luxury new spa.
The Headland Spa, part of the established Headland Hotel in Newquay, is due to open in July, and will feature a pool with jet stream and bubble seats, a rasul, steam room, Swedish sauna and aromatherapy showers. Also included will be a gym, manicure and pedicure area, relaxation room and an ocean-facing spa dining lounge.
The second phase, due to be completed in autumn 2013, will see the addition of a couples' VIP suite featuring a hydrotherapy bath. The hotel, which first opened more than 30 years ago, prides itself on his prime seafront location and boasts 96-bedrrooms plus 39 luxury one, two and three bedroom cottages.
The spa, which looks out over Fistral Bay to the Atlantic Ocean, offers treatments from organic seaweed brand VOYA, essential oils specialist Aromatherapy Associates and skincare line Kerstin Florian.
Cornish-made Spiezia is also on offer which is a skincare product produced at one of the first organic farms to be established in Cornwall, Gear Farm in the Lizard. Products are created using the synergy of herbs and flowers and their aromatic scents and qualities to not just benefit the skin to but also to be uplifting and effective
The Spa's signature 80-minute treatment is The Dreaming which uses Spiezia products and also features a scrub and massage treatment with soothing music using natural sounds from the Cornish coast.
Spa Manager Martina Crkonova has more than 18 years of experience in the spa and fitness industries and is widely recognised as a spa professional and leader and has operated several leading five-star Spas and fitness centres in Europe, Australia and on Princess Cruise lines.
Martina is also a holistic health practitioner, having studied Chinese and Japanese traditional medicines including Acupuncture and Traditional Thai massage. She is a passionate believer that good design enhances wellbeing and she will implement Feng- Shui signature looks and flows in all treatment rooms to appeal to all senses and evoke harmony.
The Spa Lounge will serve meals between 7.30am-6pm daily and includes a selection of healthy fresh locally sourced produce expertly prepared by the Headland chefs – all is left for you to do is relax and soak in the ocean views.
